Throughout the duration of this course we have analyzed, summarized, and critically explored a wide variety of sources, developing numerous analyses and arguments that are intended to encourage the students to further expand on their writing style.

Understanding the conventions and the rhetorical form has helped me this year as a writer and as a reader. To fully understand the author's message, you must first understand their particular rhetorical form. As my knowledge of different rhetorical situations has progressed, I've been able to enhance my analytical skills by further understanding the author's purpose rather than just a surface-level understanding. The role of a rhetorical form has transformed my writing, I've begun to acknowledge the importance of context, audience, and purpose to correctly make my claim. The constant practice and identification of how each element works together to create a particular effect has forced me out of my comfort zone, making me view writing from another perspective. As mentioned in my fourth journal, I view the understanding of rhetorical situations to be vital for professional and personal success.
