Thomas Jefferson

Thomas was born in Shadwell Virginia, on April 13, 1743. Thomas died on July 4, 1826 in Monticello. It was the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Thomas was elected to the House of Burgesses at the age of 25. Thomas went to William and Mary colleges. He was a Lawyer. He was also a writer, inventor, architect, the governor of Virginia, and he was the Vice President under John Adams. He was the founder of the University of Virginia.
Thomas Jefferson achieved many things, like he was the author of the Declaration of Independence. Thomas was not the only person that wrote the Declaration of Independence. The people that helped write it were John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, ...

The 3rd achievement that Thomas did was passing of Statute of Religious Freedom in Virginia. The Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom was written in 1779 by Thomas Jefferson. In 1786, the Virginia General Assembly enacted the statute into the state's law. The Statute for Religious Freedom is one of only three accomplishments Jefferson instructed are put in his epitaph. The Virginia statute of religious freedom also separated the church and the state.
Thomas Jefferson was a great man. The last 17 years of his life he remained in Virginia as “Sage of Monticello.” Thomas Jefferson was one of the people how help write the Declaration of Independence.
