After the title was passed, more male athletes felt that it wasn’t the lack of equality that kept women from playing sports, but societies idea of what feminism is and should be. The male teams also have to be cut at a certain number, and have to fill a certain quota just to reach the level of equality established in Title IX. “…College officials will argue that there are more male athletes at their respective schools because more men want to participate. It is unfair, they argue, to discriminate against these atheletes simply because a quota needs to be met” (Source B). But whether or not officials agree on the reasoning for the cuts, more women athletes are out there, and they feel more accepted. The idea of clean cut sexism is thrown aside, and women no longer have to worry about looking masculine while playing a sport.
