Toddler Observation

Emily is a little over 30 months old. She has an older sister, who is six years old,. I am spending the afternoon with her. Emily is coloring with pastels. They are fat in width for her to hold with her two fore fingers and thumb. She has mainly chosen to color with orange, green, and red. She is humming and singing a song of different tones. She puts down the red pastel and shows her sister the picture, explaining, “Ets a bird.” Her sister looks up from her book and nods her head, saying “That's nice Emily,” then goes back to reading.
