What Patriotism Means to me.

Devotion, affection, responsibility, and obligation are some words that come to mind when I think of patriotism. I believe patriotism is when you’re loyal to your country. To be loyal to your country is to stay by its side no matter what, kind of like your best friend. I also think of the flag that people hang on their porches and front lawns to display their country. To add on that, the Star Spangled Banner when it plays.
Your best friend is probably the closest person to you. If someone says something rude or mean to them, you’d stand up for them. Even when they have their ups and downs, you’re still there for them. You might live a few thousand miles ...

During sports events, social gatherings, and some religious events, you often watch the flag as the National Anthem is played or sung. Many people stare in awe as it plays with all of their attention on the flag. The dedication and respect to get the stadium that quite is monumental. Often, families are presented the Nations Flag to represent their fallen family members. Some people show a lot of respect when they see our flag, others only after a traumatic event, such as 9/11. These events cause our country to become more unified, we put aside our differences and petty opinions and love one another, and that’s what I think is patriotic.
