First wave women

Understanding the women struggle is the beginning of wisdom. For all my 20 years on earth, I never heard of women studies, first waves and women rights until I took part in this class. Women fought gallantly to be recognized in our society. Life before first wave was cruel to women, they were not allowed to vote, they could not own lands or properties.

in the struggle for women’s right is Miss Alice Paul. She paved way for so many rights of women. She participated in hunger strikes across the nation. Several prison terms could not stop her from advocating “taking women’s movements to the streets’ which incredibly played in her favor. She returned to the US at a young age to take control of the NAWSAs program in other to achieve amendment of the constitution in favor of women. She is the founder of women rights movement which is primarily to eliminate the discrimination of gender in our society. Paul also was part of the 150 women that marched courageously to the white house. Despite her arrest and jail sentence, Alice Paul never gave up she continued fighting for women rights.
