When the telecommunications industry declined, WorldCom and other companies suffered financially (Braun, Warder, & Zekany, 2004). During this time, predications indicated improvement within 10 years (Braun, Warder, & Zekany, 2004). As leading members of WorldCom organization, responsibility fell on them to lead this company in the right direction using leadership, management, and organizational structure.
Organizational theories help companies survive in the global environment. WorldCom CFO and director may not have followed good organizational behavior theories. If senior leaders would have used effective organizational behavior theories, this company would have survived.
