The Speech titled "A More Perfect Union" was delivered by President Barack Obama (then Senator) on March 18, 2008. The speech also addresses the issues of racism within America therefore ethos, pathos and logos are all evident within the speech and expressed in various way. It responds to the video clip of his pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, making comments against America and Israel.

Logos is achieved through the use of rational, logical and methodical. For older generation the memories of humiliation, doubt, fear, anger and bitterness of those years have not gone away, "the African-American community must embrace our past without becoming victims of our past" (Obama par. 38). Then he urges that "in the White community the path to a more perfect union means acknowledging that what ails the African-American community does not just exist in their minds but that legacy of discrimination exists" (Obama par. 41).
Reverend Wright and other like my grandmother and mother grew up in the south were racism and segregation was plentiful. A time when segregation was law and opportunities were scarce. Like Reverend Wright, my grandmother and others, overcame the odds and made their way out of no way.
His thought is by ALL AMERICANS (white, black, Hispanic, etc.) working together ...
