Imagery is the use of ``mental pictures'' that readers experience with passage of literature. In the poem, ``Abuelito Who,'' written by Sandra Cisneros, imagery is shown throughout in many different ways. Without limiting herself to only different types of imagery, Cisneros also provides multiple examples of figurative language to help create strong ``mental pictures.'' of the poem. And lastly, ``...sleeps in his little room all night and day.'' This shows Sandra Cisneros uses visual imagery to state that she has seen a change in Abuelito. As a result, the author was able to provide a good enough understandment for the reader to show comparisons in their relationship.

By using the tools she did Sandra Cisneros was able to create a certain effect or feeling on the reader through her words. For example, ``...asking who loves him, who loves him who?'' This auditory quote leads the reader to have some sympathy towards Abuelito because it's as if he has forgotten who in his life loves him. Another example, ``...who tells me in English you are my sky.'' This specific quote uses auditory imagery as well to make the reader somewhat admire the close relationship the author and Abuelito shared. And lastly, ``...who talks to me inside my head.'' The effect on the reader given off by this quote is a sense of wonder as to why she constantly worries for him. ...
