Throughout the National Basketball Association, there are many exceptionally talented players. Each year, certain players have a breakout season and rise to the top of their positon in terms of stats and skill. Last year, one specific player defines the definition of a breakout season. Kevin Love, the forward of the Minnesota Timberwolves, showed the world why he was worthy of a starting position in the All-Star game. According to ESPN.com, Love averaged 23.7 points per game and also averaged 15.7 rebounds per game. Surely, he is most definitly deserving of an All-Star starting spot with stats like that, right? Second, coach voting will provide more competitiveness in the All-Star game because of the equal talent of the players. Last, coach voting will introduce new players to the fan base.
First, coaches should vote for the All-Star starting line-up because they know from personal expierence who has the most talent and which players deserve the spot. On a daily basis, coaches scout and prepare game plans for other teams best players. They know better than anyone else, what players are the best in the world. If the coaches were the ones voting for the line-up, they would base their decision off of recent games in the season; not off of a certain season one former superstar had seven years ago, like the fans tend to do.
