The American Constitution is an example of democratic charter, in effect almost entirely for over 200 years. This text is the result of the liberation struggle waged by the people of the thirteen British colonies on the Atlantic coast of North America, and its composition is given in the democratic convention in Philadelphia , in Pennsylvania , from May to September 1787 .

She was the pioneer in consecrating the division of state powers into three , as Montesquieu advocated : Executive , Legislative and Judicial .
