several public works administrations such as the CCC, PWA, and WPA. A huge amount of unemployed population now had an opportunity to receive federal money without losing their dignity or being forced to accept charity. Many men had committed suicide or were deeply depressed as their role of the family supporter was unable to be fulfilled. Some left home, abandoning their families, who would also be cared for by the government subsidies. The Works Administration provided temporary jobs for men of different ages. America was beautified and cleaned by these toilers who were given some hope by the jobs provided. Lives of many families were significantly changed.
