The article Downtown is for People (Fortune Classic, 1958) talks about how Jane Jacobs let us know and describe the new innovations being mention in the US. A couple examples that stood from the innovations was the Golden Gateway office in San Francisco, the Civic Center that is located in New Orleans, and the Lower Hill auditorium in Pittsburgh. However, Jacobs believes that these projects will deaden the looks of each downtown. The only thing she thought was right about some of these projects was it would make each individual downtown unique from one another.

personally felt like these two authors were kind of different in there own way. The article about the dorm is describing the dorms in a positive way. Just his voice in the article made it interesting, to read rather than Jacob's negative attitude in her article. Jacob mainly criticized the decisions that were being brought up about the innovations of the different downtowns. I would most definitely recommend Kamin's article to a friend because I believe they would find it interesting. Plus Chicago is a beautiful ...
