Athens vs Sparta

City-State: Athens or Sparta

The ancient civilization of Greece had many different cities/states, two of these cities/states were Sparta and Athens. Athens was a city-state that was much more peaceful, where women were open to culture and the men were in charge. Sparta was a city-state that was all about Sparta, it’s military, and the strongest people that were treated equally. Sparta Athens was different when it came to their education, military, and values. I would rather live in Sparta because they had a protective and strong military, education was taught to all, and women had more freedom.

ground. Also wearing a single piece of clothing would make their bodies used to any type of weather. They also would not bathe do that their bodies were hard and tough. Being in these harsh conditions would make them stronger for battle by the time that they turn 20. They would stay and fight for Sparta till they were around 60 because they believed in Sparta before anything, including family. They had honor and pride for Sparta and would die if it meant helping it. This made Sparta the strongest city-state among the Ancient Greece city-states. Having a strong military army is important to me because it can keep your people and land safe. Without a strong military to protect us, we would not have the luxury of being free every single day.
