In 1945 the U.S makes a decision to drop the atomic bomb on Japan. As time progresses, human beings use their knowledge to create new technologies that can greatly affect the natural course of our world. Weather they are used to better our lives or to destroy everything, there is no denying that they can have a huge impact on us. Such was the case with the development of the atomic bomb. British forces stationed in Asia. To do this, the United States put embargos on strategic materials, such as scrap iron and oil that Japan desperately needed. Also, the United States sent aid to China who was currently under the control of Japan. These, and many other reasons, led to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and, therefore, the United States declaring war on Japan. The United States had to recuperate from the attack and Japan used this time to put their plan of island hopping into action. Japan was forcefully gaining control of many islands in the pacific and Philippines would be next to fall. As a counterattack the United States sent B-25 bombers to bomb Japan in what was known as the “Doolittle Raid.” Later, a team of code-breakers were able to figure out Japanese plans to attack New Guinea and Midway and the United States won both battles.
