Basketball Love
I travel the distance, but not by car
Teeth Chatter, anxious shivers, colder weather.
Game Day, I shall wish upon one bright star,
Disguised in orange and black on round leather,
Me against myself, a perfect match up,
Today may very well be my off day,
Jump stop, bank shot, it is time for backup.
Drive time, open lane, that will be my play,
Finishing the shot, Ref blows the whistle,
And one, focus up, your time at the line,
Clock winds down, I look at the official.
Heart beating ...
