During the later years of the colonists being under British control and taxes, many different incidences of aggression took place between the colonists and the British soldiers and British sympathizers. The Boston massacre is one of the most well known events that captured a boiling point of aggression between the two sides. This is an event that has many different views of what and why it happened by both the British and the Americans who were there March 5th 1770. crowd went to over 100 people. In the Wheeler Becker text, many of the accounts had said that the colonists were screaming at the British “fire if you dare” (80) and other taunting words. It seems part of human nature that anybody would feel under pressure with all the yelling that was going on along with the snow balls and sticks that were being thrown. From both accounts on both sides, people were screaming and yelling. There are three colonist accounts in the Wheeler Becker text that state that the order to fire was never heard from the British officers. (86) Also the carving of the Boston Massacre by Paul Revere seemed to exaggerate the simultaneous shooting of the Muskets and the order being delivered by a solder with his saber drawn.
