Center Of Gravity - School Essays

Center Of Gravity

The , according to the Webster's New World
Dictionary, the point in a body, or in a system of bodies, at which the
weight is equal to the forward of the object as the rear. In other words,
it is the point where the weight is equal in the front and in the back. If
you could balance it on this place it would not tilt or slide in any
direction.
The center of gravity is present in all objects, for example, you
can visualize the center of gravity on a playground see-saw. Two people of
equal weights can evenly balance the see-saw if they sit in the same place.

gravity must stay within certain limits. Any weight added to an airplane
may change the center of gravity, but if the weight you put on board is
within the plane's maximum weight capacity and within the center of gravity
limits the airplane will keep flying safely.
Another way to keep the center of gravity within the safe boundary
is to balance its fuel. The fuel in most airplanes is stored in the wings.
If you fill one wing full of fuel and the other with no fuel, the plane
will be severely off balance and the pilot will not be able to maintain
control of the aircraft.
The law of gravity which Isaac Newton discovered in 1665, was that
