Challenges In The Horse World

I have been riding horses for fifteen years and during this time I have had much success but I have also had my share of roadblocks. I have always wanted to be a grand prix rider, and have trained in many areas of the equestrian disciplines since the age of three. The grand prix classes are categorized under the jumper discipline: jumps are five feet high and can be at least five feet wide. As a hunter rider, I spent four years showing in the three-foot-three division with different young horses. Despite the many successes I experienced, I never moved to a higher division. and get back to jumping courses. Because of our love for the sport, we equestrians do not always follow doctors' orders. For example, the week after I had started riding again, my trainer built an eighteen-inch fence so that I could be jumping again. I had overcome my first obstacle but there was still another that I would have to face.
Another setback that I encountered happened at a horse show in Wellington, Florida. I participated in a clinic taught by Olympic silver medalist show jumper, and Olympic trainer, George Morris. I chose to participate because the jump height, advertised at three-foot-three, was a height I was comfortable jumping. When I arrived, the jumps were set at the advertised height. Even though the jumps were a height that I was familiar with, I knew the clinic was still going to be difficult with challenging obstacles.
