Did you know that tobacco use causes one of every five deaths in the United States? More deaths have been the result of tobacco use than virus’s, car accidents, illegal drug use, suicide, alcohol use, and murders combined? (CDC) Cigarette smoking causes about 443,000 deaths annually, 50,000 of which died from secondhand smoke. Nearly 126 million non smokers are exposed to secondhand smoking also known as,

Among teenagers from age thirteen to fifteen, nearly one of every five smoke. In the United States an estimated 3,000 children will smoke their first cigarette today. Of which 1,000 of those 3,000 will die from a smoking related illness. Teens who smoke are three times more likely to use alcohol, eight times more likely to smoke Marijuana, and twenty two times more likely to use cocaine (Teen Smoking Facts).
Many say that having tobacco products illegal can be deemed as constitutional. With more than 4,000 toxins and chemicals found in it, tobacco smoke is proven to be more harmful and addictive than marijuana.
