Using the skills of a good leader, Claudius has put on a mask over himself. The mask covers the real Claudius, Claudius as a man.
LEADER: He is a diplomatic leader and cares for his country.
Example 1
When confronted with the issue of Norway, he sends two ambassadors to the King of Norway. "Out of this subject; and we here dispatch / You, good Cornelius, and you Voltemand,… Farewell, and let your haste commend your duty." (I,ii,33-39)

The King of Norway asks Claudius’ permission for the safe passage of Norwegian troops through Denmark on their way to Poland. Claudius answers by saying, "It likes us well;… we thank you for your well-took labour." (II,ii,81-83)

A man who is brave would confront another man and deal with it in a duel.
