Cloning

I believe human cloning is an interesting topic and could possibly be used for the good of society. Despite decades of speculation, there has been no human reproductive cloning. Research cloning, also known as embryo cloning or therapeutic cloning, is another form of human cloning that produces genetically specific embryonic stem cells. After many failures and false claims of success, the first report of stem cells created from cloned human embryos was published in 2013.

Drug Administration. Clonaid moved its operations to the Bahamas. On Dec. 27, 2002, the group announced that the first cloned baby named Eve had been born the day before. By 2004, Clonaid claimed to have successfully brought to life 14 human clones. These claims are widely disbelieved, in part because Clonaid did not allow independent testing of the babies, supposedly to protect the privacy of the babies and their families. This is just one of many false claims made by people all over the world saying that they have successfully cloned humans.

Another example is a South Korean scientist named Hwang Woo Suk. In march 2004, he and his colleagues reported in the journal science that they had successfully cloned human embryos and had derived human embryonic stem cell lines from 2 of them. The next year they reported having created 11 human embryonic cell lines from 185 eggs, using a wide range of sources for their body cells.
