The text is the Proclamation of the Irish Republic read by Patrick Pearse (an Irish nationalist leader, a republican nationalist) in Dublin at the General Post Office, on 24 April 1916 (during the First World War). 24 April 1916 is the first day of the Easter Rising, an attempting uprising that only last five days and was a failure. The authors of the declaration are Thomas J. Clarke, Sean Macdiarmarda, Thomas Macdonagh, P. H. Pearse; Eamonn Ceannt, James Connolly and Joseph Plunkett; seven Irish revolutionary and the leaders of the Easter rising. The following months after that, they were captured and killed.
