This is a compare and contrast of the books Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne and The Time Machine by Herbert George Wells (H. G. Wells). The two books have some things in common and a lot more differences. In this paper, I will compare and contrast the main characters, conflicts, setting, plot patterns, general differences, plot, point of view, opinions, and my critique.

The sensation he felt when he traveled he could not describe. The kinds of conflict are different. Journey to the Center of the Earth uses the conflict Man Vs Nature. The travelers have to over come the dangers of the journey. They have to face the elements, starvation, thirst, and fatigue. The Time Machine uses Man Vs Society. The Time Traveler has traveled into the future where there is a child-like race called the Eloi. They were beautiful and graceful creatures. They were frail, had no hair, and were only about four feet tall. Morlocks also lived there. They were gruesome, pale, and chinless creatures.
