Critique Of My Reverend


The event that I choose to critique was one of the many church services that I attend. It was a lovely sermon with a beautiful message. The church that I attend looks like the topical Baptist church with wide ales, red carpet and big stained-glass windows. The audience was full of the regular members. The theme was " Zaccheus: The man who went form a publican to a preacher"
Speaker
Reverend Winston Waugh, M.A., M.Div. is an older black man form Jamaica with a strong accent. He was neatly dressed in his pastoral robe that matched the church's caches on the podium . He strikes me as a man of strong faith.

enough you had to listen hard to hear what he was saying. And his very heavy accent made it very hard to understand him if you hadn't been to this church. You would have had to cone a few times to be able to under stand his accent voice didn't show much variety only in a few spots for great importance.

Physical Delivery

He didn't use much body language or formal hand motions hardly at all. He sometimes leaned on the podium to show sincerity and emotion with a small amount of hand motions. And he kept good eye contact with the audience.

Audience Reaction

The members of the church said amen and praise God every once in a while. Some of the people were knotting of to sleep and some younger members were passing notes and eating candy. Over all most of the church wasn't paying much attention at all.

Overall Impression

He is a good Reverend but he needs to work on getting and keeping the audiences attention. The material was actual but the fire and drive to make us listen and to ...
