of pigs which was a failure. Number two was to air strike but they were afraid if they did do that, they would shoot our planes. Finally number three was to leave it alone. Nobody was really in agreement with those three options. Then they had finally decided to quarantine or in other words set up a blockade around Cuba. The Cuban Missile Crisis scared everyone to near death. It almost nearly developed into a nuclear war. In 1963 the United States and the Soviet Union signed a Nuclear Test Ban Treaty which banned the testing of atomic weapons.
