There is no bigger part of our lives than our culture and social interaction. “Social interaction is the shared experience through which people relate to one another.”(Soc2010,90). Culture is “the totality of our shared language, knowledge, material objects, and behavior.”(Soc2010,44). The movie Kite Runner can be broken down and is able to provide excellent examples of how truly important the roles of culture and social interaction play with in their lives.

his duty as a father and tries to instill his own morals and beliefs in Amir. “A boy who doesn’t stand up for himself becomes a man who will not stand up for anything”(Baba, kite runner film). This is an attempt to show Amir how to take on the role of a respectable person. The next role is that of Baba’s closest friend Rahim Khan. He is extremely loyal and knows all of Baba’s secrets. Rahim Khan’s largest role beside being Baba’s right hand man is being an uncle figure to Amir. Throughout the film Rahim Khan gives Amir constant guidance and fatherly affection that Baba tends to lack.
Roles are still valuable even if the person’s status is low. Take for example Ali who is the servant of Baba. Ali has served Baba for his entire life and is very loyal to his family. Ali also acts as a father figure to Hassan. Even though Hassan is not his biological son he takes him away when he see’s Hassan being treated poorly.
