There is always a huge debate if psychology is a science or not. Some people also wonder if a certain type of psychology is a science. Developmental psychology is one of the most debatable ones.
We can define psychology as “the study of the soul.” To understand if it is a science or not, we have to examine other parts of it.
There are four types of outlooks on psychology. All of them give usual similarities. These similarities help to understand traditional sciences. Developmental psychologists apply abundant amounts of research methods in this area of psychology. Infants are hard to study anything on, of course. When studying infants, psychologists usually use a method called the habituation method. In this method, they use certain stimuli to see which one gets more of a response out of.
