Growing up in a rural community, I got witness and be part of many challenges faced by my community , but the most fascinating challenge I got to witness is early marriages and unwanted pregnancy among young girls.

Early marriage is also referred to as child marriage, where emotional and social effects takes place, but one of the most outcome of early marriages is withdrawal of girls from formal education. Education is important as it not all about studying and getting good marks, but it means to discover a new thing and gain vast amount of knowledge.

The common problem I identified among them was poverty, I realised the deprivation of basic needs can lead somebody to a very desperate situation, this case of poverty which lead to early marraiges I strongly believed there was a solution to this .Every person especially girls who are the most affected by such cases have the right to exhaust there full potential

The first step I took was, being most of literate people in my community were teachers, I mobilised them and tried to talk to them about the problem our young girls were facing and how our community was losing our young girls with so much potential. Together we were able to come up with a solution, my community being a Christian community and the activity which unites most of the people is going to church on sartudays
