The end of the Roman Empire was much more drastic than the fall than that of the Han empire because of outside invasion, loss of centralized government, and the sheer size, expanse and influence of the empire itself.

Although there are many similarities in the reasons for the decline of these empires, there are also several different reasons for their declines like problems with economic trade, effects of the changing populations, and the failure of the political systems.

The Roman and Han empires did well economically with their trade. But the decline in trade affected Rome more than Han China. ...

rulers. Factions of imperial families began in fighting and killing each other to further their own interests and kill their rivals. In Rome "Barracks emperors" were generals who seized control and usually died violently trying to hold onto it. In the Han empire generals took control and the emperor became just a figure head.

While much of the Han empire's problems came from internal fighting, Rome was dealing with multiple invasions which further weakened them. Both empires were large but Rome's was so expansive than it became difficult to control from one central location. As a result this lead to outsiders migrating unchecked into its borders and setting up communities. This often lead to fighting over territory.
