Card used third person limited so that the reader could feel closer to the main character, Ender, without having to become Ender himself/herself. An example from text would be in pages 44-45, “Not Ender, though. When Dap came, his crying was over, his face was dry. that if Card had decided to go down the third person omniscient path, we could’ve been in the other boys’ minds, we could’ve known what they were planning, or if Ender needn’t worry at all.

There is dramatic irony at the beginning of every chapter. The readers always get to know something before Ender, just bits of conversation, but still something. An example would be at the beginning of chapter one, the very first page of the whole book we learned something crucial to the whole story: Ender was going to save the world. One character specifically said, “he’s the one,” and right off the bat, we knew that Ender would be put through difficulties he couldn’t even imagine because, if deemed necessary, the characters who hadn’t been named yet were going to surround him at all times with enemies.
