Fahrenheit 451: A Depleting Society



The society in Fahrenheit 451 was very different than society today
and may be looked at as completely imaginary. Actually, when today's
society is compared with the societies both in Fahrenheit 451 and in the
past, we are indeed headed that way. The society in Fahrenheit 451 seemed
overall boring. No reading, no thinking, and no discussions. A few ways
society is progressing toward the society in the book are in the areas of
entertainment, religion, and education.
The great “parlor walls” in Fahrenheit 451 are probably the next
step up from big screen TV. Before the television was invented, and
shortly after, it wasn't used very often. People sat around and talked.
