There are plenty of examples of functioning drug abusers that do well with their profession, but for the majority of people who choose to do drugs do not able to handle the responsibilities. Drug users are more prone to not having a job or slacking on the job due to their choice of drugs. An example for slacking on the job is calling in sick due to a hangover of any type of drug including alcohol. If an unemployed individual were looking for a job he or she would have to become clean in order to pass the drug be test to be hired on the job. Once the person is hired on they will have to stay clean to ensure job security which improves their work ambition.
