Isolation is to set or place apart or to detach or separate so as to be alone. The novel Frankenstein has isolation as a theme. This is because Victor Frankenstein and the creature become isolated in many forms.
Victor Frankenstein is isolated from the beginning of the third chapter when he starts going to the university at Ingolstadt to study life science. Victor ran from it when he finally saw what he had created, and went to his room. “I rushed out of the room, and continued a long time traversing my bed chamber, unable to compose my mind and sleep.”(pp.35) After this incident Victor runs away from him again when the creature was standing at the foot of his bed.
