Both of the short stories “A Good Man Is Hard To Find” and “Gorilla, My Love” deal with the American family and its traditions and beliefs. In terms of reality, the plot of the short story “Gorilla, My Love” was closer to reality than that of “A Good Man Is Hard To Find. “Gorilla, My Love” was a tale being told from the past life of the author Bambara. She is the intelligent sister to baby Jason and Big Brood. As she and the boys are choosing the alternative of seeing a movie titled, “Gorilla, My Love”; the title implying that there was going to be an animal involved.
