Grace

Grace is granting forgiveness or putting aside our own needs when there is no standard that says we should or must do so (Wood, 2010, p. 246). Mother and daughter forgiveness comes unconditional, and it seems to me that grace is appropriate when a daughter says, “I am sorry I let you down”, I never met to hurt you, I was being selfish. When grace is accepted from her mother and she forgives her daughter, then there is no need to rehash the event again.
What would be inappropriate grace is if the mother started to mention in another conversation how hurt she felt when her daughter was being very selfish and elaborated the content all over again, this indicates she did not forgive her and ...

Grace is not allowing others to have their way when we have no choice. Instead, grace is unearned, un-required kindness. When my roommate was sick, I took her clothes from the dryer and folder them for her. I could have gone and knocked on her door and told her I needed the dryer, and could she come an remove her clothes from the dryer. This was appropriate grace that I did for her and not expecting anything in return.
Grace is not always appropriate. I know for myself, I have been taken advantage of and not know it until another person points this out to me. I have always been forgiving and kind to others without anything in return. There is nothing wrong with this type of personality, but getting hurt is wide open when you are to forgiving.
