To some Lyle Faiferlick may just be another old farmer, but to many of his family members he is a role model, especially to Devin. Lyle is a full time farmer of about 1,500 acres, a woodworker, a loving husband of many years, a father of three, a full time “watching the crops grow” while sitting on the front porch and most of all a grandfather to two young men. If someone has a problem and needs help, he will try his best to fix and solve the problem. All through his life he has been helping people in every way that he can.

season, he would get out of school for about two weeks to help in the field. Every chance he could skip school throughout the year to help on the farm, he took that too. He enjoyed farming!

After Lyle graduated from school, he received a draft letter from the U.S. Government. Lyle was being drafted to Vietnam, he was in Vietnam for 13 months and was a truck mechanic for the U.S. Army. Shortly before he left for Vietnam he married his sweetheart, Nancy Spal.

When Lyle came home from Vietnam, Lyle and Nancy settled into a home and started a family of their own located in the rural area outside of Fort Dodge, Iowa. There they raised cattle, hogs and grew corn and soybeans. They had three daughters that grew to be wonderful farm hands. Lyle instilled hard working skills in his daughters and that helped them grow into hardworking adults today.
