Gun control has always been a national spotlight in American history. "About 80 million Americans own guns," says Deborah White from About.com. The prohibition of guns would spark up a bigger controversy. Gaynor Borade says, "That banning guns or prohibition will not make them disappear, or make them any less dangerous. In order to protect themselves, their family, and their property, it is a legitimate right of citizens to own weapons." It truly is a legitimate right of most American citizens to own a gun. The second amendment states, "We have a right to bear arms." This right was described by Blackstone as an auxiliary right, supporting the natural rights of self-defense, resistance to oppression, and the civic duty to act in defense of the state.
