He says that he is worried about the afterlife and what will happen. He is also questioning religion and still thinking about taking his own life. If Hamlet cannot come to terms with the afterlife, he will never be able to kill Claudius. Hamlet is just too smart for his own good.
Hamlet delays killing Claudius because of his strong religious beliefs and his strong morals. First of all Hamlet is in Old times Denmark, where religion was something huge.
