Nardelli certainly fulfil interpersonal roles in his approach toward the organisation. Interpersonal role is to provide direction and supervision for both employees and the organization as a whole. As a leader, Nardelli preferred to direct and influence others. He preferred a ‘command and control’ management, where the higher level managers have more authority than the lower level managers. This allowed Nardelli to give orders directly to the managers below him and out to others. Consequently, this centralised management reduced the autonomy of the store managers.
