The harsh life of a six year-old growing up in the early 1900’s is shown in this memoir . In the early years of the century, a young boy recalls his life as his family followed the rail line in hopes of finding fertile land. Percy Wollaston wrote this book, for the sake of benefiting his grandchildren. He wanted them to learn the hardships and struggles that families had to work through in order to survive.
