The other side of my Family, my mom's side, is from somewhere in France. They had the same intentions as my Father to start a new life in the United States where there was open land and lots of jobs. They first settled in Kentucky but moved to Oklahoma to participate in the great land rush of 1889. They too have mostly stayed in Oklahoma with exception of my mother who moved to California where she met my Father. My parents ended up meeting in San Francisco where they got married and decided to raise our Family. With my parents originating in the south and moving out west my parents have had to experience some acculturation. They picked up a different style of dress, a different diet and way of life. Although they have had to make the adjustment to a different type of life style they still have many southern attributes hidden inside.
