How to Succeed at Being a College Student

As a student, it's my purpose to learn and absorb as much knowledge as possible. I want to be able to pass a course, and apply it to my everyday life. In the past, my main study method was CRAM, not the best approach. In fact, it is proven to be the absolute worst. I think cramming for a test or exam places stress on mind and body. There has to be a technique to be able to successfully take in new information. In a nutshell, cramming is an ineffective method of studying and personally wouldn't recommend it. The two areas I want to focus on from the reading are having the right attitude and time management.

management to a college student is imperative if you want to succeed. Not only am I a college student, but I'm also a mom, a laborer and have a household to maintain. I'm still in the process of coming up with a system that works for us. My kids are my first priority. Finding that balance between home life, school and work isn't always easy. Staying focused on the long term goal and student loans that await you are great motivators. As long as I start my assignments when they are initially given, I have a better chance of getting a better grade. Taking notes, setting reminders, and planning ahead are all great time management skills.
Now that I've touched basis on the areas I find most fundamental, I want to start applying it to my daily agenda. I will certainly succeed by staying focused and motivated.
