One of the important historical African American stories that should be in the museum is the untold story of Emmett Till. Emmett Till was one of the racial dynamics that led to the civil rights movement. Emmett Till was a fourteen year old black boy that was murdered by two white men. Going back before the murder; Emmett Till and a group of his friends headed down to the store to buy some candy. As Emmett Till went inside the store, an eyewitness watched as Emmett till place money in the cashiers hand instead of placing it on the counter, and allow the white cashier to pick it up, like African Americans were suppose to do.
