In Cold Blood Persuasive Essay

Richard Hickock and Perry Smith were both hanged on April 14, 1965 for their actions on the night of November 14, 1959 in murdering the four members of the Clutter family in their home in the small farming community of Holcomb, Kansas. In the United States of America the death penalty is the highest punishment that a criminal can receive and is also highly controversial on whether or not it is a fair punishment. In my opinion Hickock and Smith received a fair trial and punishment.

out and pinned the death penalty on Dick and Perry. Their actions were premeditated and in cold blood there was no need to kill the family and after that the just went on with life. Dick even goes on to insist that he is “a normal” which seems to hint at some sort of mental disorder because no normal person could be a part of the murder of four people and then go on as if none of it happened.
People against the death penalty might say that is unjust to kill more people as a punishment for killing people. While this is a good point, would rather have these people possibly back on the streets. No you would not the only way to guarantee that would to sentence the pair to death.
