However, in some cases living with the one you love turns out to be a great challenge. When people marry someone from a different religious background, they often face unexpected difficulties.

One of the biggest difficulties people are facing in mixed marriages is parents from both sides who don't want to accept such a marriage of their son or daughter. Often a girl's parents don't want her to marry a man from another culture, with different background and religion. They are worried about her future life. For example, many Muslims or Jewish men won't let their kids celebrate Christian holidays even if the child's mother is Christian. In extreme situations religious differences cause such a big conflicts that it can lead to even divorce. It's very hard for people from different cultures to have the same idea about raising the kids. It's necessary to communicate and discuss every issue with our spouse to avoid disagreements and fights over who is right and whose views are better.

Last but not least difficulty in mixed marriages is just everyday life. Even when there are no kids involved couples can face lots of problems on daily basis.
