I think that a hero is someone that is looked up to and also is someone that cares about others. A hero doesn’t need to be a super hero, a rock star or even a sports figure. Most of the time it’s someone not famous and this person maybe living right next door to you. In the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee’s heroic character, Atticus Finch practices determination, persistence and intelligence.

another heroic quality is Atticus’ persistence. For instance, Atticus is very persistent with the children to have them do their homework and to succeed in whatever they do. This shows that he deeply cares about the children and wants them to grow up to be the best that they can be. Atticus also wants his children to prove to the world what they can accomplish. Another example is that Atticus is very persistent by having many rituals that he performs very often and never once misses a day without doing them when they need to be done. This shows that he is devoted to everything that he does such as reading the newspaper with Scout. This shows that he is a very organized man and knows what needs to be done.
Another heroic attribute is intelligence. Atticus uses this by trying to eliminate the prejudices within the people of Maycomb, Alabama by representing a black man by the name of Tom Robinson. This shows that the color of your skin should not determine the way you are ...
