Authors use ideas and issues to show how people in society react to problems and difficulties. This is certainly true in Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey. Set in the 1960â€™s during the Vietnamese War the novel follows Charlie Bucktin a young innocent boy who enters the adult world where the unknown lurks. He experiences the corruption of Mr. Wishart who abuses his power.
