I selected the city of London located in the United Kingdom. This city is one of the world’s largest metropolitan areas in the world with a range of business-oriented land uses. It is widely diverse and utilizes its urban center for business, hotels, and many markets (cafes, restaurants, and social activities). Toward the outward areas, beyond the urban center, London has a very large green belt where agriculture, nature, aesthetics, and recreation are able to prosper. When looking at the population of London, one can see that London is a massive city that revolves around its urban center. The population is very dense in inner London but is more spread out in outer London. A total of 8,416,535 people occupy London with a concentrated 3, 213, 900 inhabitants in the core of the city. The population distribution relates to how the city of London operates. Much more commerce and financial markets exist towards the center where agricultural and suburban communities surround the periphery. The densely populated inner city is surrounded by the more dispersed population of the outskirts. Therefore, London boasts a thriving and bustling downtown in combination with a more suburban agricultural and recreation area not far away. This gives all inhabitants a feeling of having access to the best of both worlds.
