Macbeth Internal Conflicts

Different things led Macbeth to make decisions that he wouldn’t have made by himself. Macbeth wasn’t only influenced by those around him, but also by the thaughts that war within himself. Macbeth’s actions are motivated by Lady Macbeth, his own desires, and by the witches prophecies.
Lady Macbeth convinced Macbeth to kill king Duncan. She basically told him he was weak if he didn’t do whatever it takes to get the crown. When Duncan announced that Malcolm was next in line to be king, Macbeth decided he had to kill him. Macbeth felt a huge wave of guilt doing the crime, even though he obtained the crown, and the whole thing made him go crazy.
